This month’s update on my Mastering the SharePoint Framework course features the transition from one sprint to the next.

Sprint 12 Complete

I published the final pieces of Sprint 12 this week. This includes a new chapter in the Ultimate Bundle, new lessons in two Fundamentals Bundle chapters and a bunch of fixes! Want to get the details? Join me on Facebook Live for a sprint release party tomorrow, Thursday, November 1 at 1pm ET to see what’s in sprint 12 & get a sneak peek to what is planned for sprint 13, Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals & more!

New Ultimate Chapter: Working with Angular in SharePoint Framework Solutions

When building SharePoint Framework solutions, regardless if they are client-side web parts or UI extensions, there is a visual component to these controls. While you could implement these interfaces by hand yourself, why not take advantage of a modern web framework? Frameworks make data binding, event handling and state management so much easier!

Developers can use any web framework when building SharePoint Framework components. The selection of a web framework is based on various elements, one of which is an existing experience. In this chapter, you will learn how you can leverage Angular, specifically Angular Elements (introduced in Angular 6) in SPFx solutions.

New Fundamentals Lessons: Extensions

Two new lessons explaining & demonstrating the new tenant-wide deployment option of extensions added in the v1.6.0 release of the SharePoint Framework.

New Fundamentals Lessons: Working with React in SharePoint Framework Solutions

Two new lessons explaining & demonstrating how to test React projects. These lessons build off the existing automated testing chapter where I show how to use Jest to test your SPFx projects. These two new lessons in the React chapter show you how to leverage not just the default renderer by Facebook, but to replace it and configure Jest to leverage Enzyme, a much more powerful renderer by Airbnb. I’ve also included a demo on simulating events and testing the event handlers called.

New Webinars: Building SPFx web parts, extensions & using Angular v7 in SPFx

Are you ready to learn how to create client-side web parts or extensions such as application placeholders, list view command sets or field controls using the SharePoint Framework but you don’t have the time or money to invest in a comprehensive course?

I’m trying something new. In November, specifically November 13 & 14th, I’m running 2-hour webinars, sort of like lunch & learns. These are inexpensive training options where you will learn how to build client-side web parts, extensions and even how to leverage Angular v7 in SharePoint Framework projects:

  • Tuesday, November 13, 2018 @ 11:30 AM ET (4:30 PM UTC) In my Build Web Parts & Extensions for SharePoint webinar, you will learn how to build client-side web parts with custom property panes and even utilized some of the open source PnP property pane controls. In addition, you will see how to extend the user interface with custom extensions such as application customizers, field controls & list view command sets!
  • Wednesday, November 14, 2018 @ 11:30 AM ET (4:30 PM UTC) Do you have experience with Angular and want to utilize it within the SharePoint Framework? In the Build SharePoint Framework Web Parts with Angular Elements webinar, you will learn how to create custom elements using Angular Elements with the latest version of Angular (v7) to create custom SharePoint Framework Web Parts.
