On Friday, April 18, 2025, we’re launching a brand-new student experience built to make learning, asking questions, and connecting with peers easier than ever! This is a major milestone, Wave 3 of a 4-Wave rollout, that’s been in the works since mid-2024.
Why We’re Changing
Since launching in 2017, our learning platform, has done its job — but it hasn’t kept up with what we (and you!) really need. Students had to log in to multiple platforms just to watch courses, ask questions, and engage with the community. That created a fragmented experience.
Our previous learning platform:
- Had limited course interaction features
- Required Discord for community discussions (which only 2% of students used)
- Didn’t support mobile or desktop apps
It was time for something better.
The new experience simplifies the student experience by consolidating multiple experiences into a single experience and adds new features to benefit students.
What’s New: Voitanos Learn
We’re launching a new Voitanos Learn learning platform powered by Circle, a modern and flexible system that brings everything together in one place: learn.voitanos.io.
The new Voitanos Learn app is your new home for:
- Courses - both self-paced and live accelerators
- Asking and answering questions
- Community discussions
- Live student-only events
What’s Voitanos Learn?
Voitanos Learn is comprised of spaces… think of them like channels in Microsoft Teams or Slack.
Each space can be course, discussion forum, or a list of events!

Similar many popular social media platforms, the Feed space has all the content you have access to will appear here in chronological order including events, announcements, and discussions.
The Start Here space is a free course about the community! Learn how to manage your profile, notifications, mobile apps, get the most out of the courses and group coaching programs you’ve enrolled in. Get the latest community news in Announcements and RSVP for upcoming events in the Events space.
Meet fellow developers starting by introducing yourself in the Introductions space.
Got a question or just want to chat? That’s what the Discussions & Questions and Social Chat. Unlike our previous community where developers had to figure out which was the perfect channel for their question, there’s just one place to post it!

The Discussions & Questions and Social Chat spaces are only available to students enrolled in one of our paid courses.
For example, if you enroll in our free Mastering the SharePoint Framework: Starter Bundle, you won’t have access to these two spaces.

The student in this scenario has enrolled in our SharePoint Framework Accelerator group coaching program (aka: cohort based course, or CBC) that includes access to all our SharePoint Framework (SPFx) self-paced courses (in the SharePoint Learning spaces) such as all the bundles in our Mastering the SharePoint Framework course.
Note how the student can access a discussion space dedicated to the accelerator as well all the content from the latest accelerator!
In addition, this student is also enrolled an active Microsoft Teams AppDev Accelerator program. There’s an extra space for the live sessions schedule the student can RSVP and get invites to add to their calendar.

What’s Going Away
As part of this consolidation, we’ve retiring two existing platforms used to deliver courses to students & facilitate a community for students to get answers to their questions.
Was part of the Wave 4 release, we’re retiring the following effective today:
Course Library at courses.voitanos.io
The legacy course library at courses.voitanos.io where students accessed the courses they had enrolled in is being retired.
Students will receive an invitation to join the new Voitanos Learn site at learn.voitanos.io where they can access all their existing courses.

Voitanos Community Discord Server
The Voitanos Community Discord server where students asked and got answers to their questions is being retired today.
We launched the Discord server in June 2022 in an effort to improve student question-answer and discussion experience to address limitations with our learning platform. While it is widely popular in the gaming world, it’s grown in popularity among the developer crowd.
Unfortunately it wasn’t widely adopted by our students, less than 2% joined, and many students couldn’t access it at work because many organizations saw Discord as a gaming thing.
What about the discussions in the Voitanos Discord Server?
As part of the retirement, we’re blocking new people from joining the Discord server and setting all permissions to read-only. This way, existing members can still access old questions and discussions. At this time there are no plans to migrate the existing discussions to the new Voitanos Learn site.
Another impact to this decision is that unlike the Discord server which allowed both students and those not enrolled in one of our courses to join, the new Voitanos Learn site is only for our students.
There’s no shortage of places to get your questions answered, and frankly most have more members and activity than the Voitanos Community on Discord did. My recent article listed many options.
